29/04/26 Buns, Jewellery and Cosmetics sale at KES.

This bun sale was the last function involving this year’s ‘Share Our Skills’  girls from King Edward’s. An early surge of customers left the food section effectively sold-out. Although the other items were not as successful a short ice-cream campaign  brought the takings to £255.50 for ‘Mums in Need’

24/04/26 Orange Café at Waitrose.

 Daphne, Hilary, Sue and Wendy manned the information table at Waitrose.

21/04/26 Supper with TWAM talk.

After a good supper, Ian and Sarah Sellars gave a comprehensive talk describing the aims, operations and achievements of TWAM; (Tools with a mission)
Based in Ipswich the Christian charity has several hundred volunteers across the country who collect and renovate unwanted tools. After packaging into complete sets of tools for various trades and home activities they are distributed to individuals in South Africa and here giving them the opportunity develop a livelihood.
Ian and Sarah went home with a boot full of tools and later cleared all the tools from Sally’s mother’s garage.
The charity also welcomes cash and  valuables for sell to finance shipping costs.

26/03/26 Wendy’s Coffee Morning with Orange Café.

Good food, pleasant company: result £274.00 raised. Thank you Jackie for your tree and especially  Wendy for such a successful event.

21/03/26 RCM at Barnsley Holiday Inn

SI Sheffield members took pleasure in attending the RCM at Barnsley Holiday Inn.

14/03/26 Si Sheffield- 98th Charter Lunch

At the 98th Charter Lunch our members enjoyed socialising with attendees from other Soroptimist branches and our guests; the Mayor, the Master and Mistress Cutler, Yorkshire President and Susie Westwood. Thanks too all those who organised and those who stewarded it on the day.

09/03/26 Eid Presents.

Thanks to Farah and friends for preparing E presents to be delivered to the refuge.

07/03/26 International Women’s Day.

Sheffield Rock Choir enlivened Sheffield Winter Gardens to raise awareness of Women’s International Day.  SI Sheffield’s stall distributed publicity leaflets aimed at raising awareness of violence against women. King Edward’s School (Share Our Skills) girls joined our members manning our stall. Thanks to Eva for organising such an effective event.
