Mission
Soroptimists transform the lives and status of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities.
Your local club in Cornwall – Soroptimist St Austell and District
We are a group of like minded women who meet to work together to support women and girls across Cornwall, the UK and internationally. Based in St Austell, we have members from all over the county. We come together once a month for the more structured meetings held at Porthpean Golf Club at 7.30 pm and then every few weeks for social gatherings at various venues.
The club started in 1977 and we still have 2 founder members remaining. Current membership stands at 43 (30 Full Members and 13 Linked Members) and we come from all walks of life and are of various ages. We bring passion and experience to a range of projects that are aimed at helping women and girls.
The club meets on the first Thursday of each month. We are very welcoming to new members who want to get involved and encourage any potential new members to have an informal chat with our friendly Membership Officer, Rowena Castillo-Nicholls.
We have Friendship Links with other Soroptimist Clubs and we are always open to making new links.
