The Belfast 2022 SIGBI Conference Climate for Change was a huge success bringing a wide range of speakers on a range of inspiring topics. The Conference, in line with the current Climate narrative, aimed to be a Sustainable event. As such, Belfast 2022 had a meat free lunch, repurposed Christmas Trees, Eco-friendly and recycled programme and a charitable donation programme for the local charity Compassion Belfast.
At the recent VisitBelfast Ambassador Awards Soroptimist International was runner-up in the Best Conference Award and won the Award for Best Sustainable Event. Catherine Milhench (Deputy Chair) and Melanie Douglas (Conference Committee) accepted the award on behalf of the Belfast 2022 Committee and Catherine Milhench was awarded an Ambassador Award for her contribution to the SIGBI conference and for promoting Belfast as a destination of choice for business and leisure. Well done Catherine and congratulations to the conference committee who worked extremely hard to ensure that Belfast was a Sustainable conference.
