Our event of live music and dance was fantastic and a massive success!
Soroptimist Bristol organised the concert with the Bristol-based band Sisters of Swing providing the music to support Next Link charity. The evening on Saturday, 8th June was a sell out!
The combination of great music and talented dancers, with a young group coming especially from as far away as Cardiff, made for a memorable evening of pure enjoyment as the sounds of ‘In The Mood’, ‘Sway’, ‘Begin The Beguine’, ‘Big Spender’, ‘Let’s Twist Again’ and many other well-known hits filled the air in Henleaze.
We have so many people to give a big thank you for helping to make this evening such a huge success! The band was terrific, so our very big thanks to them for providing us with wonderful entertainment. It was especially nice to see that so many young couples filled the hall dancing the night away, and what an excellent standard of dancing that was! Some people listened and joined in the singing but many others joined in twinkling their insteps! Very importantly, Liz from Next Link took a few minutes to explain the work this charity carries out in Bristol to support survivors of Domestic Abuse and the worthwhile cause it is.
Thank you to SI Bristol members who helped on the night and to those who helped behind the scenes. The atmosphere throughout the evening was just wonderful, but our biggest thanks goes to Sally who organised the event and the team of helpers, without whom we couldn’t make this happen. And we raised an amazing sum of £1216.00 for Next Link so thank you all.
