September gets off to a good start.

At the first meeting after the simmer break, our guest speaker was Pete Wallroth, founder and CEO of the charity “Mummy’s Star”.

This is the only charity in the UK and Ireland dedicated to women and their families affected by cancer during pregnancy.

Presidents Janet and Helen have chosen this charity as one they would like to support this year.

Tuesday 13th September was a busy day for Club members. Some were running a coffee morning at St. John’s Church in Llandudno, raising funds for Soroptimist charities. Meanwhile, others were running a stall at the traditional Honey Fair in Conwy. Members were promoting the “Bee Project” which aims to educate children in local primary schools about the importance of bees.

At the Regional Meeting at Cheshire View on Saturday 24th September, members of the club prepared a colourful display table to raise funds for our projects. The Harvest Raffle and plant stall raised £88 for the Meru Garden Project. The Bee Project sales raised £28.50 and the Blue and Yellow Tombola made £33. Thanks go to everyone who donated goods or helped on the day.
