Summer 2021

We continued to hold our club meetings virtually over the summer but we met for coffee at the park once a month. In July, we had a virtual meeting with our friendship club SI Starnberg-Herrsching in Bavaria, Germany. It was interesting to chat with them and find out about each other’s projects.

Another cake sale was held and plants and ornamental items were included. The sale raised a total of £480 for the DEC India Covid appeal. President Janet organised a publicity video which was filmed on Llandudno promenade. The video can be viewed on this link https://fb.watch/9jDavjxsBk/

Our face to face meetings continued in September with a lovely afternoon tea at a Llandudno hotel and our first business meeting back at Holy Trinity Church Hall. A fun walk was organised through our region to celebrate the centenary of Soroptimist International. As the Conference would have been held at Llandudno, our town was chosen as the finishing point. Four of our members walked from Colwyn Bay and others walked from the end of Llandudno prom, meeting other members from the region at the bandstand, where the baton was passed from President Louise to Anne MacDonald, Chair of 2021 Conference. The Mayor of Llandudno, Cllr Harry Saville joined us for photos and for the afternoon tea which our club hosted afterwards.
