It is 25 years since the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster. In its aftermath, radioactive rain fell on the mountains of North Wales.
For this reason, Llandudno Soroptimists are supportive of Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline, which gives a group of children a holiday in North Wales each year.
Soroptimists iron and repair clothing, help to buy new shoes for the children and donate items for the children to take home to their families in Belarus and Ukraine, areas which are still badly affected by the nuclear disaster.
Here are the children having fun at the annual picnic organised by Llandudno Soroptimists at Old Colwyn Methodist Church.
