Members of SI Medway and Maidstone CIO were joined by 60 guests to celebrate their 80th anniversary at the Tudor Park Marriott Hotel. The guests included the Cllr Brian Clark, Mayor and Mayoress of Maidstone, Regional President Roxanne St Clair, and Soroptimists from SI Osnabruck which is one of our Friendship Link clubs. We were also joined by Soroptimist friends from SI Bromley, SI Croydon, SI East Grinstead, SI Tunbridge Wells and SI Whitstable along with long term Friends of the club.
We enjoyed an Afternoon Tea that included a delightful selection of sweet and savoury treats.
The MC for the afternoon was Carol Infanti who did an excellent job. Toasts were given to both SI and to the club.
A celebration cake was cut by Jill Squires, our longest serving member, followed by the Molly Oldham award being presented to Daisy O’Hagan in recognition of her work with the CIO application and organising the 80th weekend.
We were given a beautiful vocal rendition of the by our Soroptimist sister Sigrid from Osnabruck.
The raffle raised £465 for charities aligned with our Soroptimist objectives.
