Well, what can I say? What a wonderful weekend full of joy, laughter and most importantly friendship!
The weekend marked Soroptimist International of Neath’s 70th Anniversary.
Friday 20th April – An amazing welcome to our Romanian friends from SI Targoviste
President Lynda very kindly hosted SI Neath club as well as our friends from SI Targoviste at her home on Friday evening. The night was a warm welcome and an amazing way to kick off our weekend full of celebrations!
Saturday 21st April 2018
On Saturday we spent the day down Mumbles. Despite the traffic, we made it down there and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Castellamare. Some members from SI Neath and Targoviste enjoyed a windy but sunny walk along the coastal path and treated themselves to a Verdis.
Saturday night and it was time to put our glad rags on and celebrate our 70th Anniversary in the Castle Hotel. It was a wonderful event and we partied late into the night.
We were lucky to be joined by Sue Williams President Elect of SIGBI and her husband, Amanda Rees President of Region Wales South, Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and Gwenda Thomas AM.
Sunday 22nd April 2018
On Sunday, we attended a morning church service at St Thomas’ Neath.
We then went down Porthcawl for lunch at the Harbour Bar and Kitchen. Our visitors from SI Targoviste enjoyed their walk along the promenade.
On Sunday evening, Sue Thomas invited members and our friends from SI Targoviste for a final evening of fun and friendship before our friends left to return to Romania the following day.
