The members of Soroptimist International of Paisley were taken completely by surprise to receive a certificate and covering letter from Provost Lorraine Cameron, Renfrewshire Council acknowledging and thanking us for our support for the local community during the past months.
As a Club we had agreed for this year to focus most of the work we could carry out locally, and thanks to the generosity of members and friends, we have been able to support the local Foodbank, the STAR project (which supports families in need) and Rekz Community Fridge through deliveries of food items and funds. In addition we provided filled backpacks to Renfrewshire Women’s Aid for the children they were supporting to use when they returned to school after the lockdown.
The recognition is really appreciated by members and gave us a huge boost in these challenging times
