SI Rossendale Supports Survivors Of Domestic Violence

Have you ever wondered how SI Rossendale Supports Survivors Of Domestic Violence?

25th November is the International Day Of Elimination Of Violence Against Women.  As part of our ongoing campaign to support women escaping domestic violence, SI Rossendale members have recently donated gifts to our local womens refuge. Just in time for Christmas.

We support survivors of domestic violence

Supporting the survivors of domestic abuse is a very important cause to the members of SI Rossendale. During the lockdowns of 2020 there’s been a large increase in the reporting of domestic violence.  According to a recent survey by SafeLifes, calls to the national domestic abuse helpline soared by 66% during the first lockdown period.  A very concerning statistic which we need to highlight on this International Day Of Elimination Of Violence Against Women

The members have donated Toiletry Gift sets and luxury chocolates for the ladies along with some little luxuries such as silk scarves, hot water bottles, fluffly socks and photo frames.  For the children, there’s selection boxes and tins of sweets and some boxed games which we send with our very best wishes for Christmas.
