14/06/25 RCM and Friendship Day at Wentworth Woodhouse.
The sun shone, the rooms impressive, the gardens interesting, the delicious food served efficiently by friendly staff at the Yorkshire RCM held at Wentworth Woodhouse.
After coffee and registration the brief RCM comprised of reading of recirculated reports followed by a moving illustrated talk by poet Chaucer Cameron and Helen Dewbury about the dangers vulnerable women risk. Chaucer read a poem to video “In an ideal World I would not be murdered.”based on her experiences. The morning finished with an impassioned and inspirational talk by Sarah Mcloud, CEO of Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust relating the aims, difficulties, achievements and experiences met in the restoration.
After lunch, the 82 delegates where able to either take a guided tour of the gardens or to explore the house and amenities.
A good time was had by all, congratulations to the organisers.
01-11-24 Sigbi Conference at Edinburgh
Our delegates, Eva, Sally, Wendy, Chris, Hilary and Daphne had a great time at the Edinburgh conference
Sigbi Sheffield were in the last nine of the Enable category with Chris presenting the Winn Gardens project. Hilary received her honorary membership.
29/04/24 Si Sheffield AGM
The high spot of the AGM was the official presentation of president’s regalia to Sue, followed by the AGM celebration cake, beautifully made by Daphne our retiring Immediate Past President.
The AGM agenda included reports from each activity group and each member of the committee.
February’s Business meeting took on a party atmosphere.
We were delighted that Yorkshire Region President, Susie Westwood, joined us as we celebrated Hilary’s honorary membership award.
Our President Sue presented the award together with flowers and goodies while Daphne’s beautiful cake accompanied our raised glasses of prosecco.
