Annual General Meeting April 2012

The club reviewed another very successful year . The main Charity was the Cornwall Air Ambulance. The club also gave financial support to The SIGBI Diamond Jubilee Education Fund and the International Presidents Appeal. There was a coastal walk for WaterAid, a donation to BookAid and Plan International (Because I am a girl).  A Barn Dance was held  to raise funds for the local Womens Refuges. Donations were made to St Blaise PCC and the Friedrich Ataxia Society .

Overseas,  £400 was sent  to  buy a cow for a widow in Tanzania and we have begun to support the education of Sineguyu an Aids Orphan in South Africa.

Also in the year the club raised awareness of The Purple Teardrop Campaign and the horrors of Human Trafficking with a display in the Market House St Austell and collecting over 600 signatures on a petition  to ban Sex for Sale advertisements. The club celebrated International Womens Day in March with a photo shoot on the bridge at St Austell Railway station.

The 44 members of the club are looking forward to the next club year which will be our 35th.          A party is planned for February 2013  to mark this anniversary.
