At September’s supper evening, President Kath Tuddenham was delighted to introduce Dame Vera Baird QC, as our after dinner speaker. As well as several guests from Clubs across the Northern Region, we also had the pleasure of welcoming Regional President, Shirley Hallam. Dame Vera spoke about her new role of Victims’ Commissioner of England and Wales and the importance of providing support to victims of crime, in a judicial system where the focus is primarily on the defendant.
