Skirting Science

Soroptimist International Taunton has now run three successful Skirting Science events at Taunton School

Skirting Science is a one day STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) initiative that aims to inspire the next generation of female scientists and dispel misconceptions about science and engineering careers for women.  Year 9 girls invited from local schools participate in interactive workshops delivered by science professionals.

On 29th March 2017 around 230 girls from 12 schools in Taunton, Bridgwater, Wellington, Wiveliscombe and Langport came to attend the event, run on a similar format to previous years.  Again, our thanks to those organisations that provided workshops on the day – see Workshop Providers.

Thank you to Taunton School and the Somerset County Gazette for supplying some of the photos.
