The presentations of trophies to winning teams and cheques to the four charities took place on Thursday 28th April at Cheddon Fitzpaine Memorial Hall. Swimathon Co-ordinator, Christine Briggs, welcomed all winning team members and friends and charity representatives. She announced the total raised this year was £17,078.27. However, there was prolonged applause when Christine mentioned that over its 28 year history the grand total raised by the Swimathon is £594,543.36!
The Taunton Mayor, Marcia Hill, presented the trophies to the winning team members. Among these were our own Soroptimist Swans as the team who raised the most sponsorship money – over £900. The Mayor also presented a cheque for £4,241.57 to each of the charity representatives.
