At our Speaker Meeting in September Caroline Scott spoke to us about the Empathy Lab, of which she is one of the founders. The Empathy Lab is a charity working with children to enhance empathic relationships through the use of high quality literature. See above for some examples of the kind of work that they encourage schools and libraries to purchase. Their work is based on the firm belief empathy can be learned. They offer programmes to schools and libraries and have a growing presence across the country, noting their work results in calmer learning and increased interest in reading.
