Soroptimist International of Aberdeen is part of a worldwide organisation of women, which is linked to the United Nations.

WELCOME TO SI ABERDEEN

Soroptimist International Aberdeen is part of a worldwide volunteer organisation for women who want to transform the lives of other women and girls.

We want to make a difference!

Our Aberdeen club has been around for over 90 years currently with a membership of around 30 women from a variety of different backgrounds. We are involved in a variety of activities including providing practical support for local, national and international projects. We also meet regularly to hear a variety of speakers representing a wide range of charities and organisations.

Currently we are supporting two local organisations, Grampian Women’s Aid and Instant Neighbour. Members have also been raising funds for the Rosie May Foundation, an international charity which, besides other projects, helps to provide ‘Think Pink’ Tuk Tuks for women drivers in Sri Lanka. http://www.rosie-may.com

Recently we distributed funds to SOHTIS, a Scottish charity providing specialist support to survivors of trafficking helping them rebuild their lives, to the Medaille Trust, a UK based charity providing refuge and freedom to victims of modern slavery, and to Trellis providing local opportunities for therapeutic gardening across Scotland.
