Soroptimist International of Aberdeen is part of a worldwide organisation of women, which is linked to the United Nations.

WELCOME TO SI ABERDEEN

Soroptimist International Aberdeen is part of a worldwide volunteer organisation for women who want to transform the lives of other women and girls.

We want to make a difference!

Our Aberdeen club has been around for 95 years currently with a membership of around 25 women from a variety of different backgrounds. We are involved in a variety of activities including providing practical support for local, national and international projects. We also meet regularly to hear a variety of speakers representing a wide range of charities and organisations.

We continue to support Grampian Women’s Aid http://www.grampian-womens-aid.com and the Aberdeen Cyrenians http://www.weareac.org locally. Members have recently been successful in reaching their fundraising target for the Rosie May Foundation, an international charity which, besides other projects, helps to provide ‘Think Pink’ Tuk Tuks for women drivers in Sri Lanka. http://www.rosie-may.com

Recently we distributed funds to Aberlour Trust, a Scottish charity helping disadvantaged children and families have a brighter future, to Strut Safe, an initiative to help anyone who feels unsafe when walking in public, and to Smart Works, a charity that gives unemployed women the clothes, coaching and confidence to secure employment and change their lives.
