Sisters of Swing: Charity Concert in Aid of Next Link

On a warm summer evening, music and dance enthusiasts gathered at St Peter’s Church Hall in Henleaze, Bristol, for an evening of swing and jazz music with the Sisters of Swing.

Yesterday’s event was organized by Soroptimist International of Bristol to raise funds for Bristol’s Next Link Domestic Abuse Services, which supports women and children who have suffered from domestic violence.

The Sisters of Swing, a local all-female swing band, kicked off the night with a high-energy performance that got everyone tapping their feet. The band’s powerful vocals, and lively rhythm section had the crowd on their feet, ready to dance the night away.
As the band played hit after hit from the swing era, the dance floor filled up with couples and singles alike encompassing a wide range of ages. The Sisters of Swing’s infectious energy and talent kept the crowd entertained throughout the evening, with many attendees commenting that it was a fabulous evening.
In addition to the fantastic music and dancing, the event also featured a raffle, and a popular bar, all of which helped to raise funds for Next Link. The charity’s representatives were on hand to explain their work and many people were inspired to donate generously to this worthy cause.
Overall, the evening of dance and music with the Sisters of Swing was a huge success, both in terms of entertainment and in raising funds for Next Link. It was a fantastic example of how the community can come together to support a great cause while enjoying themselves at the same time.
