Crosby Soroptimists support a local charity’s work with new mums and families.
The volunteer-led charity Sefton Baby Baskets provides a Moses basket full of clothes and other items for new babies and their mothers. These baskets are very well filled. Increasingly, much is needed by families going through tough times.
Mums are referred by social services, midwives, health visitors, schools and many other organisations. The charity supplied items across the whole Liverpool City Region, and beyond.

Having listened to a speaker about the charity, the Soroptimists decided to widen their craft project that had started in lockdown. Some members are now making baby blankets and baby-safe toys to go in the baskets.
We also make regular collections of baby clothes, maternity needs and other items for the women and their families.
