A heart-warming development …
According to the British Heart Foundation “Women are twice as likely to die of coronary heart disease, the main cause of heart attack, as breast cancer in the UK. Yet it is still not always seen as a woman’s problem.”
Crosby Soroptimists therefore set up a project to widen women’s access to information on heart health. (This follows a successful initiative by our sister club, SI Liverpool.)
In partnership with Liverpool Chest and Heart Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (at Broadgreen), we organised a free heart health information event. It was very successful.
We are delighted that the event has since been recognised by Soroptimist International as an ‘exemplary initiative’ in their 2026 World Health Day campaign: Soroptimist International Heart Health certificate SI Crosby
