SWACA : Safety Wellbeing And Challenging Abuse

Soroptimists support victims of domestic violence and abuse.

SWACA : Safety Wellbeing And Challenging Abuse. The club has longstanding links with this charity, known for years as Sefton Women’s and Children’s Aid. SWACA now offers a free and confidential service to all regardless of age, disability, sexuality, race or religion.

The club has a representative on the Board, and thus has the opportunity to contribute towards the charity’s progress. The club regularly donates money or provides essential items for SWACA’s clients.

Recently Crosby’s Soroptimists donated £1,500 to SWACA. This will be put towards the installation of CCTv in the new refuge.

For the cheque handover, the charity’s Chief Executive, Neil Frackleton, invited a group of Soroptimists to visit the shop and offices, and to meet some of his staff. The result was an in-depth discussion about SWACA’s work, how much they value Club’s support, and how best to continue the relationship. Monetary donations are of the most benefit and are always used for the support of the many women and children needing SWACA’s care.
