Conwy Honey Fair

Llandudno Soroptimists have been working on their Bees project recently. President Elaine held a stall at Conwy Honey Fair, raising funds for the Bee workshops operated in schools by members of SI Llandudno and SI Rhyl.  Goods for sale included cakes, knotted bees, and honey from the hives that are shared by SI Rhyl and SI Llandudno.

At the Club meeting, members enjoyed a talk about bee-keeping.

Professor Pete Barrar, who is a Director of the National Beekeeping Centre for Wales,  based at the Bodnant Food Centre, gave members an interesting insight into how bees operate, beekeeping and honey production.

We celebrated this special day with a few quiet moments of reflection on the work of Soroptimists  to create strong and peaceful communities worldwide.

International Day of Peace Service at St.Tudno’s Church, Great Orme.
Afterwards, we went to the Imperial Hotel…….
….and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea.
