SI Worcester and District will be hosting a tree-planting ceremony in Fort Royal Park, Worcester to celebrate 100 years of Soroptimism, on 23rd September 2021 at 2 pm. The event will be attended by the Mayor of Worcester and members of SI Worcester & District, friends, and relatives. A celebration of art in all its forms on the theme of ‘Women’. From October 2nd to October 15th in Kidderminster Library.
SIGBI is proposing that to show commitment in supporting our theme ‘Believe to Achieve‘; the Conference Committee will supply funding to enable Regions to offer free places for young women (aged 15-20) to attend Conference this year. Midland Arden Region has received funding to pay for the registration fees for two places. The attached letter from President Elaine explains how the selection will work. Sponsorship Proposal
Along the trail, there are displays representing one hundred women, who Club members feel have empowered women locally, nationally, or globally, in diverse ways, and who may be historical or contemporary figures. Each woman was nominated by a club member and is represented by a poster giving a sense of how that woman has ‘made a difference and why that member wanted them to have a place in the ‘one hundred’ One of the members of SI Kenilworth had the bright idea of contacting some of the contemporary women. Midland Arden Region has donated £2,901 to St Vincent and the Grenadines Disaster Relief Fund to help with the relief work following the eruption of the volcano La Soufriere. We hope all our sisters in St Vincent and the Grenadines are safe and well and thank you to all members and Clubs in our Region for their generous donations.
We are delighted to announce that our new statue at our plot at the National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire, has now been installed. The NMA is open to pre-booked visitors. Why not have a day out and visit our plot?
