These are some of the projects SI Surrey Hills has completed:
Project Moo – milk from the cow we bought pays for educational materials for a school in Peru.
Friends of the Poor in South India – we provided 5 sewing machines to train women in order that they might earn a living and support their families
Blankets for Bliss – we were delighted to meet our target of knitting 60 blankets.
For the Soroptimist International Centenary, we funded the planting of 527 mangrove trees for a project supervised by our Soroptimist Sisters in SI South Kolkata. In a four year project, we funded eight latrines in conjunction with Toilet Twinning. They are in Malawi (2), Pakistan, Nepal, Tanzania, Nigeria, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and very smart they look too!
