Swindon Soroptimists provide 20 backpacks for girls in Africa to be distributed by the charity Mary’s Meals

Mary’s Meals is a charity we have supported in the past and is a charity now adopted by our whole region, SI South West and Channel Islands.  We love these distinctive bright pink backpacks and hope they will appeal to the little African girls who will receive them.  Each backpack contains a spoon, a dress, flip-flops, a towel, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, pen, pencil, crayons, notebooks, rubber, ruler, pencil sharpener, pencil case. All these necessities are items British children take for granted, but, for the African girls who have no possessions at all, to be given these things will make a really big difference to their lives.
