New member Marion Christmas was a popular guest speaker at the March club meeting, talking about her voluntary work with the scout movement in the Gambia, raising money to build Kaira Konko Lodge and also a school.
Marion had learned about the SI project for BIG – birthing in the Gambia – and our own club project with pillowcase dresses while she was there. We therefore welcome Marion warmly and look forward to her input to our membership. She has since received a MBE and an Honorary Fellowship from Winchester University for her involvement with the Gambia.
