Region Meeting Speaker – Community First Responders
Chris Pentecost was our first speaker at the Region Meeting June 7th
Chris gave an interesting talk on the North West Ambulance Service volunteer first responders scheme.
He brought along some of the equipment he uses. These local volunteers assist seriously ill people before the professionals arrive. Their priority is to keep people breathing or their hearts beating until the ambulance or paramedics attend.
They don’t deal with traffic accidents or criminally injured.
