Friendship Links are the Soroptimists’ way of connecting with other clubs worldwide to share projects, offer support and forge friendships.
SI Crosby’s oldest connection is with SI Kalundborg in Denmark. Also in Scandinavia we have links with SI Sigdal in Norway and SI Falkenberg in Sweden.
Crosby’s Soroptimists have visited all three countries. Read about our latest visit (2023).
In the UK we have a longstanding link with SI Keighley (Yorkshire). We get together at conferences; and have enjoyed day trips to meet up for sightseeing and a meal.
In recent years we have established a link ‘down under’ with SI Joondalup in Western Australia, and with SI Jesi, in Italy. Italian Christmas greetings – a lovely surprise.
Our Friendship Co-ordinator keeps in regular touch with all our links. In ‘Covid times’, through Zoom technology, we were able to share online events. We ‘travelled’ to Yorkshire for a party; joined SI Jesi for part of their conference; took part in a Swedish meeting; and welcomed worldwide guests to our celebrations on International Women’s Day.
