A lockdown ‘lightbulb moment’ project keeps going!
To support the charity Knit for Peace members began to knit and crochet squares for patchwork blankets in the autumn of 2020. The squares are sewn together, and trimmed with a neat border. Several consignments have been sent to Knit for Peace, amounting to a total of 94 blankets so far.
It’s a team effort! This simple project aided personal wellbeing during isolation as members contributed to a Club initiative. Crafting squares revived ‘rusty’ skills and led to a feeling of satisfaction.
This project supports the charity in sending blankets – and much more – to people in need. Plus, the attraction of crafting has spread to making cot blankets for Sefton Baby Baskets.
