Women serving the St Albans Community Since 1957
The Soroptimist International St Albans and District Club was chartered on 27 April 1957. The Club Year runs from May to April – please see our Programme of events to see what our plans are for the year: www.sigbi.org/st-albans/club-programme/ We usually meet twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Mondays. Our meetings include hosting speakers relevant to the causes we support, attending to Club business, and working on our Programme of Action – the work we do to tackle issues including women’s education, human trafficking, the environment, health and violence against women and girls.
This year we will continue our support for charitable causes, international, and local – to find out more about the charities we support please see www.sigbi.org/st-albans/charities/charities/ To read more about our Projects see the website: www.sigbi.org/st-albans/category/projects/
It is certainly not all work and no play! We arrange social events to raise funds for the charities we support and outings and visits when we can enjoy each other’s company. As an international organisation we have links with clubs all over the world from Osaka in Japan to Warsaw in Poland.
