Over the last few weeks, members of SI Cannock have supported one of the local secondary schools by carrying out mock interviews with Y10 & Y12 students.
The club is approached each year by Cannock Chase High School to take part in the mock interviews they provide to prepare pupils in interview techniques for when they leave school. Each year a number of members take part as they feel they are providing a valuable service to the school and their pupils in passing on skills that they have acquired as both interviewers and interviewees.
This year, Six members took part in mock interview sessions that were held for Y10 and Y12 students where they each interviewed up to six pupils before giving them feedback on their performance and advice on interview techniques. They then completed an assessment form for each pupil that was later given to the student for reference.
Feedback from the Students was that they had taken away a lot from the sessions. The members enjoyed the experience and relished the chance to interact with the students offering their skills and knowledge. They were all very impressed by the focus and ambition of many of the students.
