Members of SI Barrow, Grange over sands and Windermere marked International Women’s Day with an event in Barrow Market Hall. Other groups involved were the Barrow Women’s Centre, Girl Guides and the Multicultural Forum. The event was attended by MP John Woodcock and MEP candidates Theresa Griffin and Julie Ward.
Members talked to the public re International Women’s Day, Soroptimism and our projects including the Staying Safe project. MP John Woodcock and local schools were particularly interested in the Staying Safe project initiated by SI Grange. We also walked around Barrow with banners highlighting the day and talking to shoppers..
The day was rounded up with an excellent meal reflecting world wide cuisine provided by the multicultural forum members.
