The 1st June 2025 saw the Annual 10k Sutton Coldfield fun run take place. Once again Ellie was contacted by the organisers to see if she could russell up some volunteers. With 9 SI Lichfield & District ladies volunteering who brought along along family and friends to assist, we had group of 18 (incl 2 soroptimen), who gave up their Sunday morning to marshal.
Once the important H&S brief was given we were sent on our way to our allocated spots, where we would ensure the runners were kept safe from residents attempting to leave their homes during the run, as well as the most important part of encouraging them on their way!
What a fantastic day we had, the sun shone, the residents came out in full force to support and the runners “mostly” had a smile on their face. Another successful event ~ I believe Ellie has already been contacted to support next year… well done to all for taking part as we also raised an amazing £485 for Club.
