The next club meeting is on Monday 19th March when guests are again invited. Our speaker is Dr Anna James who has a Masters Degree in Law specialising in the British Criminal Justice System and Organised Crime and amongst other things will talk to us about radicalisation. Message or email us if you want to come along.
Last month we were on BBC Essex on 8th February to advertise our Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) submission to government, and we linked this with our project to support the White Ribbon campaign. We had a slot on 28th February to talk about White Ribbon as this is our project in the Royals on 3rd March, for International Women’s day. STOP PRESS this was postponed due to snow and will now take place on 17th March.
We’re still supporting Manna’s Ark, our President’s Project for the year. Soroptimist Susan has investigated the site for the sensory garden and a mural and her students from the local sixth form college are helping with this and with other publicity projects. Manna’s Ark is a garden therapy project near Chelmsford.
We continue our local, regional, national and international work. The club has held a number of high profile events to raise awareness about trafficking and our RSE submission is being supported by Soroptimists across England.
The date of the next exec meeting will be Monday 9th April.
The next Regional Meeting is in June and we shall use it as a Development Day for our clubs.
