Always a good fund-raiser, Janet’s coffee and cakes morning didn’t disappoint! Several members attended, there was a raffle and about £150 was raised. Together with Margaret’s Monday lunch for friends, our club will send a donation of £300 for this worthwhile project.
Another good lunch at Hadleigh View, with some special guests from the Great Yarmouth club, who told us about our Regional Project, which works to eliminate jigger. Rosa and our nurse who works in in the Kwale region of Kenya, gave us lots of information about the problem and how cheap the solution is. If each child could be treated, it would make a huge difference to their chances of being educated. Very worthwhile.
The club has already contributed our share of money for this year and whilst with us, they were presented with a further cheque for £500 which was a generous donation from a club member’s relation.
