Club Members were delighted to meet Cecile Hodoul from SI Victoria, Seychelles while she was visiting her sister recently who lives in St Albans.
The group met for coffee and exchanged many ideas about projects to help women and girls in the Seychelles and in St Albans. Meeting up with Soroptimists from different countries is a wonderful part of being a Member – it is like having sisters and friends all over the world – all with the same common objective of improving the lives of women and girls. After little more than an hour the group were firm friends and keen to arrange their next meeting (the Seychelles islands are a very tempting holiday destination!). Our new friends Jeanne (Cecile’s sister) and her daughter, who live locally, will of course be invited to our Club events from now on.
Jane Slatter met Cecile and another Soroptimist from the Seychelles at the Soroptimist International Convention in Istanbul last month www.sigbi.org/2015/si-convention-member-blogs/ When Cecile and Jane realised they would be in St Albans at the same time in August they were determined to meet up.
