The Million Mile Clean – Beach Cleans

100,000 VOLUNTEERS X 10 MILES EACH = 1 MILLION MILES    https://beachcleans.org.uk/about

Fresh air, community spirit, a sense of accomplishment and a tangible difference to your local beach. Protecting the environment has never been so rewarding.

Surfers Against Sewage are excited to bring you the Million Mile Clean.  This is a new campaign which connects our beach cleaning action throughout the year targeting 100,000 volunteers walking 10 miles, whilst cleaning the places they love.

After more than a year of isolation, social distancing and reduced physical activity, the Million Mile Clean reconnects communities with the environment.  Also promotes the benefits of volunteering for both mental health and physical wellbeing. Join us for the biggest, most active beach clean campaign ever!

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

We want you to walk, paddle or swim 10 miles throughout the year whilst picking up rubbish. Beach, street, river or mountain, you can clean anywhere, anytime, just remember to track your distance, submit your results, and use the hashtags #MillionMileBeachClean or #MillionMileClean when posting on social media. You can either run a clean and get your whole community involved, join a clean in your local area, or do a Mini Beach Clean in your own time. All of your cleaning action counts towards our million-mile goal.

DON’T FORGET TO HASHTAG IT!

PROTECT THE AREAS YOU LOVE

So you want to run your own clean? That’s great news! When you register a clean with us, you are joining the longest and most active clean campaign, the Million Mile Clean. You run the clean, but we’ve got you covered with all the resources you need to lead a successful event. You can promote your clean on our map, invite friends and family to join, and you’ll be covered by our public liability insurance. To top it off, we’ll send you a free beach clean kit, which contains enough equipment for 30 volunteers. Registering your clean is quick and easy…  https://beachcleans.org.uk/get-involved/run-a-clean/
