Soroptimist International - Bournemouth

Soroptimist International of Bournemouth is part of a worldwide organisation of women, which is linked to the United Nations.

We meet monthly at West Hants Tennis Club, Roslin Road, Bournemouth where the food is excellent and the room has great facilities for any guest speakers. In July, we like to meet for a social with partners, friends and previous members so hold a fish and chip evening at a member’s home.

All our meetings start with a meal and a chance for members to socialise and unwind from their day. There is the chance for members to meet in the bar beforehand for a drink and we try to make sure we sit with different people each month.

Although primarily a “business” meeting, by having a meal, inviting interesting speakers and having some meetings that are just social, we aim to include something for everyone . Visitors from other Soroptimist Clubs, organisations and the community often join us.  Meetings are where we not only enjoy a get together, but also hear what else is going on in the world of Soroptimism.  As an international organisation we receive invites to other Club events, Regional Meetings and arrangements for the SIGBI Annual Conference are dealt with but we also use email for communication and much day to day business . We also use social media such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

Like all Clubs we have developed traditions over the years but welcome new members with fresh ideas and look forward to ensuring that their membership is a positive and warm experience.

Guests are welcome to attend most meetings, but we would need to know in advance in order that we can confirm numbers for the meals.

If you are interested in what we do and would like to come along, just to see if you like us, or out of sheer curiosity, please contact us via our email address at sigbibournemouth@hotmail.co.uk or use the ‘Contact Us’ section on this website.
