We were all very sad to hear that SIGBI President Johanna Rafann MBE sadly died in June 2021. She was due to join us at our AGM and 50th Anniversary celebration on 7th August and we be missed by all at that meeting and for all the work she had done for our organisation. She joined SI Ipswich back in April at their AGM and inducted two new members. So full of life and energy, it is difficult to take in that she is no longer with us. On behalf of all our members in London Anglia Region, we send our heartfelt sympathy to her family.
Since November 2019 when London Anglia Region last met in person, a total of 10 members/ex-members have died and we wanted to honour them and celebrate their lives in a way that went beyond what we could do in our Regional Zoom meetings held in 2020.
Each Club affected has prepared a one-page Eulogie for those who belonged to their Club and these are available for members to view on our Googledrive. A link will be sent to Club Secretaries and those attending our In Memorium meeting via Zoom on Sunday 11th April at 2.30pm on the Saturday.
If you are a member please join us for a celebration of these women’s lives and all the committment they gave to Soroptimism in their time with us. They made a difference to the lives of many women and girls.
