A number of members from London Anglia Region attended the Soroptimist International Convention held in Kuala Lumpur in July 2019.
The theme of the Convention was Soroptimists Enable a Sustainable World – Global Connections, Empowered Women and included prominent keynote speakers as well as presentations from the Presidents of all 4 Federations.
- There were sessions on: Gender Equality for Water & Food Security; Women Take Charge – End Violence, Trafficking & Exploitation; Women Leading in Technology & Innovation; She Matters – Healthcare & Lifetime Wellness; Our Climate, Our Responsibility, Our Actions
- Interactive parallel workshops (Saturday): Youth Leaders Social Activism Forum (Educate to Lead); Effective SI Engagement with the UN; Human Trafficking Prevention; Rebuilding Lives – Education & Empowerment after Disasters; Women, Water & Food Security.
- Interactive parallel workshops (Sunday): Youth Leaders Activism, Advocacy & Philanthropy; Connecting SI to the Digital World; The ‘She’ Factor in Climate Change; Social Enterprise – Future for Social Purpose Organisations; CEDAW (Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women).
- Looking forward to the next SI Convention will in July 2023 in Dublin
