How did Fylde Soroptimists play a part in the Lytham Lights?

Fylde Soroptimists at Lytham Lights 2019

Fylde Soroptimists supported the local community by helping the organisers (Cuffe and Taylor)of the Lytham Lights switch on celebrations.  Cuffe and Taylor also organise music festivals nationwide including the famous Lytham Festival.

Soroptimist members and friends organised the running of the Green Room for the crew, staff, acts and dignatories.  Food and drinks were generously donated by local restaurants and volunteers collected and distributed refreshments throughout the event.  They also stewarded the stage and helped manage the crowds – totalling some 5,000 on the day!
Soroptimists took this opportunity to raise awareness of the “Orange the World” 16 day campaign and also show their support for Fylde Coast Women’s Aid.  Members manned a Soroptimist stall and gave out oranges and stickers to highlight the campaign to end Violence against Women.
Altogether a truly successful day.
