Many thanks to all the women who have supported us again [pardon the pun!] More bras boxed up and ready to go –
For International Women’s day this year we collected over 1000 pre-loved bras in the Royals and the Civic Centre.
The bras will go to S I Poole for the Purple Teardrop campaign, which supports women in Kenya. Forty of them have set up small businesses to recycle the bras, employing other women. This means they can feed their families, keep their children in education and avoid the dangers of trafficking and the lure of the sex-trade.
A Great Project!
THANK YOU EVERYONE!
And a thank you from Poole Soroptimist club ….
Southend Soroptimists come to Poole
Tuesday, April 18th, 2017
Poole Soroptimists were delighted to welcome Soroptimists from Southend for the day.
SI Southend members had collected over 1500 pre-loved bras for the Purple Teardrop Campaign’s initiative that supports Free the Girls, a charity that kick-starts micro businesses for human trafficking survivors overseas using pre-loved bras.
Thank you Southend Soroptimists for collecting so many pre-loved bras and especially for coming to deliver them in person, we really enjoyed meeting you and showing you this lovely part of Dorset.
