The new St Albans Museum and Gallery has opened! It is in the old Town Hall building right in the centre of the City. Soroptimist International St Albans and District made a donation of £250 towards the development of the new museum and we are very proud that our name now appears on an Honours Board in the museum.
St Albans Soroptimist Members Denise Powell, Jean Eaton and Jane Slatter attended two of the special evenings held for the Honours Board donors. See below for a few photos – the refurbishment of the museum is a real triumph and well worth a visit. The Honours Boards are in the basement where you can also see the original cells used to detain prisoners before they appear in the Courtroom – which is now available for you to sit and enjoy refreshments from the cafe – perfect!
