Busy September for St Albans Soroptimists

Kerry Trevett with Helen ByrneOur Soroptimist Club had a great September Club Meeting focused on its new Sustainability Policy. The event was led by Helen Bryne and the Club’s Planet Team. Our guest, Life Coach Kerry Trevett, facilitated some meaningful discussions about motivating yourself to live a more sustainable life. Another session will be arranged soon to finalise the policy. The outcomes from the discussion will be incorporated into the SISTA Club Sustainability Policy DiscussionClub’s Sustainability Policy which will be issued and adopted by the Club to help the Club and it’s Members make a difference. Soroptimists throughout the world have responded to environmental calling through mitigation and adaptation through awareness, action and advocacy. As we work towards the achievement of Agenda 2030 for more sustainable environmental work with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals as guides.

SISTA Nosh n NatterWe also made time for a “Nosh and Natter” at Bellacino’s in St Albans – a group of Members having dinner with wide ranging conversations from pets to domestic abuse!
Janet Audley-Charles (pictured front left) was recovering from the celebrations of Old London Road Pre-School 25th Anniversary party at the weekend. Janet set up the Pre-School and has run it ever since – she was given a well deserved award by the Mayor of St Albans for her dedication. Well done Janet!
