On the hottest day of the year, a group of seven ladies from Lichfield & District Soroptimists’ planet group and their friends embarked on their very first, socially-distanced litter pick of 2020.
As part of its service work during the Covid-19 pandemic, Lichfield & District Club has been putting together pamper bags for healthcare and mortuary key workers in our area.
The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from nature. Yet, these are exceptional times in which nature is sending us a message: To care for ourselves we must care for nature. It’s time to wake up. To take notice. To raise our voices. It’s time to build back better for People and Planet. This World Environment Day, it’s #TimeforNature.
Soroptimist International of Midland Chase Region recently put out a call to its clubs to document the daily experiences of key workers during the current Covid-19 pandemic. There was a superb reaction and responses were gathered from a wide range of key workers – not only in the NHS and caring professions, but also in the often over looked private and voluntary sectors.
