International Women’s Day – Awards event at Canning Street Primary School

On International Women’s Day, President Christine went to the IWWD Awards event for the Year 6 pupils which we had organised with  Canning Street Primary School. All the children received a certificate and Celebration chocolate. The school was really pleased with the enthusiasm and the effort they all put in. The children were challenged to depict, in either words or images, a woman who had inspired them. They researched on the Internet and in their books.  President Christine thoroughly enjoyed this collaboration and was very impressed at the enthusiasm and standard of work produced by the children.  In this Platinum Jubilee year, she was delighted to note that many of the children had chosen Queen Elizabeth 11 as a lady who had inspired them.  President Christine said, ´They really were a joy to work with. The school is going to make a display of their work.´ Asilia produced the poster and received ‘Murder Most Unladylike’ by Robin Stevens. A worthy winner indeed.
