Several club members visited Fallowlees Farm today. It is run by West End Women and Girls centre and over the years we have contributed to the farm’s development in terms of planting trees, obtaining a hive and some sheep for them. There is now a third generation of sheep! Our major contribution was the provision of the poly tunnel several years ago when a club member , Christine. raised£10, 000 by applying for funding from a national charity.
As it was sometime since she had visited, the farm had developed considerably.
‘There were many changes up at the Farm today from the last visit I made. Real expansion with new buildings and the renovation work on the old cottages in full swing and weatherproofed for the coming winter. Glad to hear that they are planning improved access paths but I managed to potter around today – lovely day out !
Everyone enjoyed their visit as can be seen from the following photographs.
