Soroptimist International is a global volunteer movement of women working together to transform the lives of women and girls. Soroptimists inspire action and create opportunities through a global network of members and international partnerships. S.I.Newcastle upon Tyne was the first club to be chartered in Northern England ( see history page). In 2025 we will celebrate our 88th Anniversary.
Over the years we have supported a variety of charities and causes both locally and internationally. Always our aim is to improve the lives of women and girls.
Our members are from a range of business and professional backgrounds with a wealth of experience and skills. We are proud to have club members who do and who have served at regional, national and international levels of our organisation. All members enjoy the fun and friendship that the club events offer and some are involved in other aspects of Soroptimism. (see Home website page of www.sigbi.org.uk and www.ukpac.org.uk )
We form links with other Soroptimist clubs and S.I. Glasgow City has been our Friendship Link club for over 20 years.
SI Newcastle is a lively and growing club with members of all ages who bring a variety of skills We are part of an international network of women who get together on a regular basis to give time and skills to help improve the lives of girls and women locally, regionally and world-wide.
We are involved with a wide range of activities supporting local, national and international projects and charities and in doing so we organise many events that you can get involved with.
We offer all interested women a warm welcome and an invitation to join us at a meeting so that we can explore opportunities of working together.
