Firstly, a huge thank you to outgoing President Vera for her leadership throughout our 81st year. Supported by her team of officers she ensured that we delivered across the full range of Programme Action, whilst through the new small group working, we have got to know each other even better.
So we enter our 82nd year as a robust and vibrant Club, ready to deliver another successful year of Programme Action supporting women and girls, and of course ourselves and each other. I look forward to this being OUR year and not MY year – a collaborative year – and welcome your ideas for Club topics and activities. Topics currently being explored include a Rural Project; Good Mental Health; and Sponsorship of a Girls’ Football Team. I have also proposed that we look at Climate Change – what it means particularly for women and girls and also what women and girls in particular can do as a positive force for change.
It will be another busy year, but we will make time for us, for some entertaining speakers, socialising and fun. After all, we are women – natural multi-taskers – so please do let me have your ideas for what you would like in our year ahead.
